Anderson Home Inspection, LLC began in the Baltimore, MD area after years of studying. I started the inspection firm to supplement my income as I had a full time job as a police officer. My goal was to do home inspections like no one else and offer the best service.
It was expected that I would do around 1 or 2 inspections per week. I then met some of the top real estate agents that suggested that I join a group with Long & Foster Real Estate. I took their advice which immediately sent the inspection business to an unexpected level. After just 2 short years, I was conducting 30 or more inspection per month and working my full time job and I had hired a few inspectors. Now, the Baltimore office conducts between 1,200-1,500 inspection per year and many of them include Radon testing.
In March 2004, I retired from the police department (at a young age with 20 years of service) and moved to Florida. After a few months of soaking up the sun, I decided to start the home inspection business here in Florida. My thinking was that I could supplement my police pension by doing 1 or 2 inspections per week, sounds familiar? After a few short years, business picked up even with the real estate market being down. Now, I can’t wait to get up everyday to begin my inspection journey. I now have it in my blood and can’t imagine doing anything else.
Florida is flooded with home inspectors. I wondered how I could be the premier inspector. So, I decided to get trained in conducting specialty inspections. An example is solar. I went to work with a solar contractor to learn and how to inspect solar. I have first-hand knowledge not only how solar works, but how they are supposed to be installed. I learned all the different brands, how each company installs them and the shortcuts in their installations. Understanding the restriction and limitations is essential. Some of the other specialty training includes Energy Evaluations, Pool Inspections, Green Certified Inspector, and many more...
I also began New Construction Phase Inspections, from pre-slab to completion.
